SOMERSET \u2014 South Laurel\u2019s suffered consecutive losses for the first time this season on Thursday, but the Cardinals held their own during their match with Somerset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A goal by Liam Zik, and two goals from Henri Flaegel cut the Briar Jumpers\u2019 lead to 4-3 before Somerset scored two unanswered goals to get the 6-3 victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe played the majority of the match fairly well,\u201d Cawood said. \u201cSomerset had an excellent attack and they are always tough to play. The match was 4-3 after Henri scored his second goal. It looked like we were getting ready to turn the corner, work hard and have a chance to even up the match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey scored two quick goals with under 10 minutes left and we just couldn\u2019t match their relentlessness to get the fourth goal,\u201d he added. \u201cWhile we played until the whistle, which I was happy to see, we just had those two breakdowns so late. It comes back to the same thing that has hurt us in our losses this season \u2014 digging deep to put a full 80 minute match together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
