WILLIAMSBURG \u2014 A nine-day layoff didn\u2019t seem to bother North Laurel at all during Monday\u2019s 49th District road matchup with Whitley County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jaguar sophomore Reilly Stuber turned in a career game, tying the North Laurel boys\u2019 goals scored record (Jarrod George vs. MMA in 2000) in a game with seven to help lead his team to a 10-2 win over the Colonels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

North Laurel\u2019s Cam Anderson also tied a program record with four assists in a game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The win improved the Jaguars to 5-3 overall, and 2-0 against district opponents while Whitley County, who hadn\u2019t played in 11 days, fell to 5-6 overall and 0-2 against district foes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stuber\u2019s seven goals scored also ranks him tied 20th overall in the state record books. The seven goals also gives him second place honors in the 13th Region single game record book, according to the KHSAA State Record Book, surpassing South Laurel\u2019s Jeffrey Postin\u2019s five goals in a game back in 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI was pleased overall with how the team played tonight,\u201d North Laurel coach David Broyles said. \u201cWe were a little rusty and fell into a few old habits, but we possessed the ball well and found scoring opportunities early and often. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cReilly Stuber played exceptionally well tonight, scoring seven goals and tying a school record,\u201d he added. \u201cHe had been in a bit of a slump, but this game he found a rhythm. That wasn\u2019t the only record tied tonight though, as Cam Anderson tied to single game assist record with four. Now we get ready for hopefully the Model game on Thursday.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stuber\u2019s first goal came 10 minutes into the match, but the Colonels\u2019 Tucker Hale scored less than a minute later to tie the game at one apiece. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A goal by North Laurel\u2019s Collier Mills 30 seconds later pushed the Jaguars\u2019 advantage to 2-1 while his team never looked back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stuber added another goal before Grant Abner also scored to push North Laurel\u2019s lead to 4-1. Two more goals by Stuber and a goal by Zachary Jacobs pushed the Jaguars\u2019 advantage to 7-1 at halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stuber added three more goals in the second half while Jacob Senters also scored for Whitley County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
