The Lady Jaguars (19-8) took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and seemed to be in control until the Lady Indians exploded for four runs in the bottom of the fifth and never looked back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe came up to Mt. Sterling and played a top 10 team tonight,\u201d North Laurel coach Chris Edwards said. \u201cWe played a really good game and just came up short. We represented ourselves well tonight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOffensively, we had seven hits and probably five or six more that we hit right on the nose that Montgomery caught,\u201d he added. \u201cMultiple hits from Katie Sams and Ellie Adams. We had runners on base all night and left nine on base. That was the difference tonight. Emma pitched well again tonight. She allowed only seven hits, four of those were in the inning they scored. She really battled tonight against as good of a team as we\u2019ve seen this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m really proud of my girls tonight,\u201d Edwards continued. \u201cWe had quite a drive to get up there and we played a legit top 10 team to the wire. I hate losing more than anyone but this game proves that we can compete with some of these teams. Quick turnaround as we play Casey County at Southwestern tomorrow. Go Jags.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Emma Carl took the loss in the circle, lasting all six innings while allowing seven hits and two earned runs. She finished with two strikeouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
