Case in point \u2014 Monday\u2019s 6-0 win over Pineville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Lady Redhounds are winners of three straight, which also include victories over Whitley County and North Laurel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Corbin (9-16) scored four runs in the first inning, and that\u2019s all the Lady Redhounds needed as Danni Foley pitched a gem, allowing only one hit while striking out 10 batters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kennedie Guiher led the way at the plate with two hits and an RBI while Morgan Hicks had a hit, a run scored and two RBI. Foley also added two hits while Raegan Walker had a hit, an RBI, and a run scored. Alana Stidham also delivered a hit while Kallie Housley and Bailey Stewart each scored once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe defense was spot on tonight,\u201d Stidham said. \u201cDanni Foley struck out 10 tonight, only allowed one hit, and just giving another solid performance. I have to give props to my catcher as well. That pitcher\/catcher combo goes hand in hand and is something that isn\u2019t always talked about like it should be but Anela Sanders catches game after game connecting with her pitchers and makes sure to be in sync with our pitchers, allowing them to pitch their games from so many different pitches and spins. It\u2019s just so important to have that connection so pitchers are free to do their job and having a great defense behind them as well just makes all the difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRaegan Walker picked up everything her way shutting the Pineville offense down along with Guiher, Stewart, and Hicks reeling in any hopes of hits shutting them down,\u201d she added. \u201cWe had to adjust on offense and Danni Foley and Kennedie Guiher came through w timely hits and Morgan Hicks and Raegan Walker were able to grab hits that sparked our offense. It\u2019s just nice to get the offense going and manufacturing runs when you need them and not giving up. I have to give credit to Rachel Howard. She is a heck of a pitcher and did great on the mound. My girls just kept grinding and adjusting at the plate. Great Win and now we get our sights on Williamsburg and preparing for that game.
