The Lady Wildcats failed to score in the first inning but scored in the final four innings to improve to 12-9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Coach Nikki Hendrix received another solid pitching effort by Jorja Carnes, who recorded a complete game shut out while allowing seven hits. Carnes also struck out five batters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chelsea Hendrickson came through at the plate with three hits, which included a triple, three RBI and one run scored. Lauren Partin had two hits, two runs scored and two RBI while Charity Steele finished with two hits, two RBI and one run scored. Julie Moore had two hits, an RBI, and two runs scored while Carnes had two hits and scored twice. Lily Henize had a hit and scored one run while Allie Messer drove in a run. Emma Burnette finished with a run scored. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt took us a few innings to get going, but once we started hitting the ball, we were able to score and have a big inning,\u201d Hendrix said. \u201cChelsea Hendrickson and Lauren Partin were able to come up with big hits when the bases were loaded and gave us a boost. We played really good defense tonight as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWilliamsburg has improved since the last time we played them, so I was glad to come away with the win,\u201d she added. \u201cHopefully, this win will carry over to tomorrow as we face Barbourville.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
