<\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"MANCHESTER \u2014 After securing the 51st District\u2019s top seed on Thursday, a little bit of a letdown might have been expected with Nikki Hendrix\u2019s Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats traveled to play Clay County on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But then again, Hendrix\u2019s squad had a little bit of payback in the back of their mind after dropping an 11-0 decision to the Lady Tigers back on March 19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lynn Camp received a stellar pitching and hitting efforts by Allie Messer while outhitting the Lady Tigers, 9-6, to pick up a 7-1 victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Messer had a huge game at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a home run, a double, five RBI and one run scored. Jorja Carnes had two hits and two RBI while Messer also tossed all seven innings, scattering six hits and allowing only one earned run. She also struck out three batters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe came into tonight’s game wanting some revenge after they beat us 11-0 earlier in the season,\u201d Hendrix said. \u201cClay County is a really good ball team and we knew it was gonna be hard to pick up the W, but they were determined to get it tonight. This win was a team effort. Some of the players were struggling at the plate, but they made up for it with their good defense. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cJorja Carnes and Allie Messer came up with big hits when we had runners on and we were able to score,\u201d she added. \u201cAllie gave us a big boost when she hit a three-run homer in the top of the 6th. She also pitched a great game tonight and was able to keep their hitters off balance. The defense behind her played very well, too.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
