Led by another strong pitching effort from freshman Kenzie Williams, the Lady Cardinals fought back from a 1-0 deficit to knock off Madison Southern, 6-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Williams picked up her eighth win of the season while recording another complete game. She limited the Lady Eagles to only five hits while not allowing an earned run, and finishing with 12 strikeouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe had to put last night behind us quick,\u201d South Laurel coach Carly Mink said. \u201cThat\u2019s not who we are and we responded well tonight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cKenzie was good again tonight and we made plays behind her,\u201d she added. \u201cDefense and pitching is a big part of being successful.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Williams also had a big day at the plate with a 3-for-3 effort while driving in a run. Skye Lawson had two hits and an RBI while Bailey Frazier connected with a hit, and drove in two runs while scoring once. Morgan Jackson had a hit and scored twice while Addison Baker scored twice. Ryleigh Bretz had a hit and an RBI while Amara Horn finished with a hit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
