WILLIAMSBURG \u2014 Whitley County\u2019s hung tough against a very good Madison Central squad before falling 11-6 on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Colonels (5-5) have now lost four games in a row, but coach Jeremy Shope continues to be encouraged of the improvement he is seeing out of his team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe got better offensively tonight,\u201d he said. \u201cWe saw Madison Central\u2019s number one tonight. We had some really good at bats against him. It\u2019s good for us to play great competition day in and day out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have to get better on the mound,\u201d he added. \u201cWe\u2019re walking too many guys right now. I love our team. If we stay the course and keep getting after it, great things can happen with this team.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jason Nunley led Whitley County with two hits and two RBI while EJ Allen finished with two hits and a run scored. Matthew Wright had a hit and an RBI. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
