Led by the pitching effort from freshman Kenzie Williams, and home runs from Bailey Frazier and Morgan Jackson, South Laurel broke a one-all tie with three runs in the third inning and never looked back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cReally good way to get started,\u201d South Laurel coach Carly Mink said. \u201cWe played well in all phases of the game. We put together some really good at bats. We were able to work the count and get timely hits with runners on.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Williams tossed five innings, got the win and struck out 10 batters while Audrey Likins tossed a scoreless inning in relief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cKenzie put together a solid effort in the circle tonight, was very efficient, and worked ahead in counts,\u201d Mink said. \u201cAudrey Likins came in and threw the last inning and pitched well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jackson led South Laurel with three hits, three RBI, and five runs scored while Frazier finished with a hit, three RBI, and a run scored. Addison Baker, Amara Horn and Skye Lawson each finished with a hit and two RBI apiece. Williams delivered two hits and an RBI while Emmie Rice finished with a hit and an RBI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
