LOG MOUNTAIN \u2014 Bell County needed a win to get back on track after behind held to its lowest point total of the season just a day before while Whitley County was looking to gain some momentum heading into postseason play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the end, it was the Bobcats who was able to pull off the win on Saturday, handing the Colonels a 76-61 loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The win improved Bell County to 23-5 while the Colonels are now 20-7. After starting the season with a 13-1 mark, Whitley County is 7-6 since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTough one for us, congrats to Bell County,\u201d Whitley County coach Eric Swords said. \u201cThe second quarter killed us and we could never recover. Defensively, we consistently got beat off the dribble, offensively we were way too stagnant. I thought we did compete hard to finish it out. Just got to continue to work and get better. Got two tough ones next week.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bell County held a slim 17-14 lead in the first quarter before outscoring the Colonels, 17-5, in the second quarter while holding a comfortable 34-19 lead at halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whitley County continued to battle throughout the game, but couldn\u2019t get over the hump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ethan Buell led the Bobcats with 23 points while Blake Burnett added 20 points and Cameron Hall finished with 16 points. Jaxon Thomas finished with 11 points in the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evan Ellis led the Colonels with 21 points while Bryson Mahan finished with 17 points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
