1. Whitley County (5-0 overall)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What else could you ask for?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Colonels had one heck of a week, defeating Corbin, North Laurel, and South Laurel while also capturing the Kentucky 2A, Section 7 championship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They\u2019ll be tested again this week with games against Knox Central and Corbin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. North Laurel (6-3)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Jaguars look to be the most-improved team in the region. They\u2019ve got a win over Corbin, and lost a five-set heartbreaker against Whitley County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Corbin (3-2)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Redhounds fell to Whitley County in the finals of the Kentucky 2A, Section 7 Tournament but did pick up an impressive 2-0 win over a much-improved Bell County squad. The Lady Redhounds are dangerous. They\u2019ll improve as the season progresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. South Laurel (1-2)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Cardinals were very close to beating Whitley County after jumping out to a two-set lead but just couldn\u2019t seal the deal. They\u2019ll continue to get better as the season progresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Bell County (6-1)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Bobcats are another team to keep an eye on. Gracie Jo Wilder makes them dangerous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Knox Central (3-1)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barb Gregory\u2019s squad is once again solid, and will be a tough out once postseason play begins. The Lady Panthers have a big match this week against Knox Central.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Pineville (3-5)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coach Samantha North has done a fantastic job with the Lady Mountain Lions. They\u2019ve improved after each game, and could be a surprise this season. They have a tough match this week against Knox Central.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. Harlan County (2-1)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Black Bears have quietly jumped out to a 2-1 mark. Harlan County looks to be a tough team to beat in the 52nd District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9. Williamsburg (1-3)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Yellow Jackets have gotten off to a slow start but has shown they are a solid team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. Jackson County (1-5)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are waiting to see if the Lady Generals begin to catch fire. They have the talent to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
