BOONEVILLE \u2014 Lynn Camp coach Tyler Wagner took full responsibility of his team coming up short during the Wildcats\u2019 52-48 loss to Owsley County on Thursday.
Wagner was hoping his team could capture back-to-back wins for only the second time this season, but Lynn Camp fell short four points.
\u201cTonight is all on me,\u201d he said. \u201cThe kids became complacent after these past two weeks and they weren\u2019t focused or ready to play tonight. That starts with me, we came out in the first half and couldn\u2019t find the bottom of net. Our defense was irrelevant in that first half.\u00a0
\u201cSecond half different story, we came out and hit some shots and battled back and the team that I\u2019ve been seeing these past few weeks showed back up. We battled and played hard. But it wasn\u2019t enough we already buried ourself too deep.\u00a0
\u201cThis one\u2019s on me, I didn\u2019t keep my foot on the gas during practice and I failed them by doing that,\u201d he added. \u201cThe kids weren\u2019t focused these past two practices leading up to it and I didn\u2019t get us in line and refocus our minds back the ultimate goal. I hope tonight shows them that we can\u2019t afford to take one day off and not get better. I can assure you we will be focused from now on. But we need to get ready and bounce back Saturday and have a good practice Sunday because next week is going to truly show us what we are made of.\u201d
Tate Mills continued his impressive play, finishing with 19 points while Zach Thorpe added eight points. The loss drops the Wildcats to 6-14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
