Led by freshman Shelbie Mills\u2019 26-point scoring effort, the Lady Cardinals fought back from a 22-12 first quarter deficit while building a 38-33 lead at halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
South Laurel (16-9) outscored the Lady Generals, 26-11, in the second quarter, and never looked back. The Lady Cardinals outscored Jackson County, 20-15, in the third quarter, and 19-8 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGood road win,\u201d Souder said. \u201cWe got off to a rough start and were down 10 after one. We challenged our kids to pick up the energy and effort. Played pretty solid after the first quarter.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Skeeter Mabe and Aubrey Bundy both jones Mills in double-digits with 11 points apiece while Maci Messer added nine points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI got after Skeeter to be more aggressive offensively,\u201d Souder said. \u201cShe draws so much attention and she was able to get to the rim which then freed up some shooters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cShelbie continues to stay hot,\u201d he added. \u201cAubrey Bundy was big for us in second half by getting in the paint. Also got good bench play from Callie Jones, Syd Blanton and Kylie Smith. Still working towards playing a complete game. Jackson County is a dangerous team, so this was a really good team effort for us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
