CORBIN \u2014 Isaac Wilson\u2019s Corbin Lady Redhounds seemed to have recovered from their recent five-game losing skid by reeling off their third consecutive win on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Redhounds improved to 12-7 overall, but more importantly, 3-1 vs. 50th District opponents, by outlasting rival Whitley County with a 56-44 victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cProud of my team for finding a way to win an ugly basketball game,\u201d Wilson said. \u201cHats off to Whitley County. I thought that they had a great game plan and really made us struggle for most of that basketball game and that\u2019s credit to Sean Pigman and the job that he\u2019s doing at Whitley county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are now three and one in district play with an important game coming up Monday against South,\u201d he added. \u201cIt\u2019s important that we have a few good days of practice and preparation. We will learn a lot from tonight\u2018s game and I believe that it\u2019ll make us better moving forward as postseason play is just right around the corner.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both teams struggled out of the gate, combining to score only 11 points in the first quarter as the Lady Colonels (12-7, 1-2) held a slim 7-4 edge entering the second quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Redhounds started to find the basket more in the second quarter, outscoring Whitley County, 17-11, to take a slim 21-18 edge into halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game remained close throughout the second half with Corbin leading 37-32 with eight minutes remaining in regulation before using a 17-12 run in the fourth quarter to secure the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kallie Housley led the Lady Redhounds with 13 points while Kylie Clem finished with 12 points. Bailey Stewart and Raegan Walker finished with eight points apiece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whitley County\u2019s Jonna Rice led all scorers with 17 points while Maddy Hopkins finished with 16 points. Aubree Clemons turned in an 11-point scoring effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
