CORBIN \u2014 Tony Pietrowski\u2019s Corbin Redhounds got back to their winning ways on Saturday after dropping a hard fought decision to Harlan County on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corbin improved to 7-4 after upending Ashland on Saturday with a 63-59 decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Redhounds built a 33-26 lead at halftime, and led 52-39 into the fourth quarter before holding off a late comeback attempts from the Tomcats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cProud of the way we responded today,\u201d Pietrowski said. \u201cKids showed a lot of moxie coming back from last night\u2019s set back. We beat a very good team and persevered through fatigue. Excellent win for our program.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eli Pietrowski and Zander Curry led Corbin with 15 points apiece while Ryder Akins added 14 points, and Conner Middleton finished with 11 points. Corbin was also without the services of injured Carter Stewart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cZander Curry played excellent today,\u201d Pietrowski said. \u201cScored it well, rebounded and guarded the entire game. Eli Pietrowski continues to play at a high level for longer stretches. He put in a great effort today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRyder Akins is really a special talent,\u201d he added. \u201cGuarded an excellent player today with success and continues to grow. Our kids are really battling to be the best team we can be. We have played a tremendous schedule and will be better for it down the road. Played without Carter (Stewart) tonight and honestly not sure what his status will be. We hope to have him back in the near future but until he\u2019s fully healed we aren\u2019t going to risk it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
