WILLIAMSBURG \u2014 After posting a 2-0 mark earlier in the week in Indiana, Whitley County traveled back home, and picked up a nice win on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Colonels improved to 9-1 thanks to an easy, 80-48, victory over Belfry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGreat to get another win before the break,\u201d Whitley County coach Eric Swords said. \u201cWe are doing a great job of moving the basketball. We got off to a slow start in the first quarter, ball movement wasn\u2019t great and we were stagnant. I thought from the 2nd quarter on that is some of the best basketball we have played offensively and defensively.
\u201cGuys will get a much earned break, we just have to keep growing, trusting and loving each other,\u201d he added. \u201cAt any point it can\u2019t be you, it\u2019s always got to be about the Colonels. If we continue that this group has a chance to be special.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whitley County jumped out early against the Pirates, and continued to dominate throughout the contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Colonels are winners of nine straight after opening the season with a home loss to Wayne County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They\u2019ll be back in action next week, hosting the Borderline Classic. Whitley County\u2019s first contest will be against South Doyle, Tenn. on Wednesday, Dec. 27. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
