After coming off a 2-3 mark in this past weekend\u2019s First Priority Lady Colonel Classic, North Laurel took care of business early, and never looked back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Great job by the girls tonight going on the road and picking up another district win,\u201d North Laurel coach James Hendrix said. \u201cAfter playing five games on Saturday, the girls have been exhausted. Tonight, we were able to let them rest and let some of the younger girls get plenty of playing time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis time last year, we hit a wall that we never really recovered from, and that showed in the postseason,\u201d he added. \u201cSo, I was happy that we had another day for them to get their legs back and make a push as we get closer to the postseason. Tonight, everybody put the mark on the game. Hannah Daniels and Tessa Monhollen got a few kills each thanks to Baylee Asher’s solid setting. Meg Brock led a huge run in the second set and picked up several aces. We played well during the second set defensively. Sofia Ramirez held down the back row, and Liberty Reyngoudt played solid at the net with a couple blocks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe made some mistakes in the third set, and it was a little closer than what I wanted, but they played hard until the end and overcame a deficit to finish it out,\u201d Hendrix continued. \u201cTomorrow is a big night for us. Whitley County is the team to beat, and I’m looking forward to seeing our growth since losing to them earlier in the season.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
