Knox Central, Bell County, and Red Bird each won their season-openers on Monday to improve to 1-0 while Pineville, Clay County and Harlan County each suffered a loss. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monday\u2019s contests<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knox Central 3, Clay County 0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Panthers squeezed past Clay County with a 25-23 win in the first set before crushing to 25-19, and 25-15 victories in the second, and third sets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knox Central is scheduled to be back in action Thursday at home at 5:30 p.m. with a match against Barbourville while the Lady Tigers will host Perry Central today at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bell County 3, Barbourville 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After suffering a 25-22 loss in the first set to Barbourville, the Lady Bobcats rallied and win the final three sets, 25-22, 25-13, and 25-9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bell County\u2019s Gracie Jo Wilder dominated the action with 15 kills, seven aces, four dogs, four assists, and two blocks. Teammate Lily Orick finished with 15 assists, and three aces while Jordan Muncy collected nine digs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

April Roark, and Aubrey Woolum each led the Lasy Tigers with two kills apiece while Roark also had eight digs, and four assists. Payton Brown finished with 11 digs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Bobcats will Jellico, Tenn. today at 6 p.m. while Barbourville will travel to play Knox Central on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Red Bird 2, Jenkins 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Cardinals managed to hold on and record win number one against Jenkins after capturing the first set, 25-18. The Lady Cavs won the second set 25-18 before Red Bird came away with a 25-19 victory in the third set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Cardinals will host Owsley County today at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Claiborne, Tenn. 3, Pineville 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Mountain Lions hung tough against Claiborne, Tenn. but in the end dropped a 3-1 decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pineville fell 25-14, 25-21, before winning the third set 26-24. Claiborne, Tenn. wrapped up the win with a 25-20 victory in the fourth set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pineville will host Leslie County today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perry Central 3, Harlan County 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Black Bears lost the first set 25-18 before winning the second set, 25-21. The Lady Commodores win the final two sets by identical scores of 25-18 to grab the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harlan County won\u2019t be back in action again until Monday, August 22 against Barbourville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
