TORONTO, ONTARIO \u2014 Former North Laurel star Reed Sheppard turned in an impressive effort during Kentucky\u2019s 81-73 victory over Germany in the Wildcats\u2019 first game of GLOBL JAM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheppard logged 16 minutes, finishing with six assists, three rebounds, and two steals. He turned in an 0-for-4 shooting effort from 3-point range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYesterday at the scrimmage, the exhibition game, Reed played unbelievable. Like, if you were here, you\u2019d said, \u2018wow,\u2019\u201d Kentucky coach John Calipari said. \u201cSo today after the game, I said, \u2018I need you to say this, \u2018I couldn\u2019t make a shot\u2019, say it, \u2018I couldn\u2019t make a shot.\u2019 He just smiled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut he got his hands on balls, he had assists, (and) he\u2019s an unbelievable thrower, you guys don\u2019t even know, the sideline out baseline, the thrower in is really important. And, he\u2019s always calm, and waits, and waits, and throws it to the right guy. It\u2019s good to win the first one.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
