{"id":14001,"date":"2023-05-30T14:39:39","date_gmt":"2023-05-30T18:39:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.13thregionmedianetwork.com\/?p=14001"},"modified":"2023-05-30T15:01:36","modified_gmt":"2023-05-30T19:01:36","slug":"melissia-everage-douglas-named-lady-jacket-basketball-coach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.13thregionmedianetwork.com\/?p=14001","title":{"rendered":"Melissia\u00a0Everage-Douglas Named Lady Jacket Basketball\u00a0Coach"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Melissia&nbsp;Everage-Douglas Named Lady Jacket Basketball&nbsp;Coach<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 13th Head Girls\u2019 Basketball Coach at Williamsburg is no stranger to Lady Jacket Basketball. &nbsp;We are pleased to announce that Melissia&nbsp;Everage-Douglas&nbsp;has been selected&nbsp;as the new Head Girls\u2019 Basketball Coach. &nbsp;Melissia is a 1996 Graduate of Williamsburg High School and was a four-year letter winner with the Lady Jackets. &nbsp;She played all four years under Ray Martin, the all-time winningest girls\u2019 basketball coach at Williamsburg, and her teams won 67 games during the four years she&nbsp;played. &nbsp;Melissia and her teammates won twenty games during both her Junior and Senior seasons and those two teams are arguably the most prolific offensive teams in school history.&nbsp;&nbsp;Following her graduation, she accepted a basketball&nbsp;scholarship to St. Catherine College in Springfield, KY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Coach Douglas\u00a0has\u00a020 years of\u00a0coaching experience\u00a0in\u00a0basketball and volleyball. \u00a0Her summer\u00a0teams\u00a0enjoyed\u00a0a 61-game win streak that spanned over two seasons\u00a0and her teams have won many championships, including a KBA State Basketball Championship.\u00a0\u00a0She has been heavily involved in First Priority for 13 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Melissia has her B.S. degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Elementary Education and M.A degree from the University of the&nbsp;Cumberlands, with her Principal\u2019s Certification. &nbsp;She has taught at Whitley Central Intermediate for the past 19&nbsp;years.&nbsp;&nbsp;Coach Douglas has two daughters,&nbsp;Marissa,&nbsp;and Montgomery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We welcome Coach Melissia\u00a0Everage-Douglas back home to lead\u00a0the Lady Jacket Basketball\u00a0Teams\u00a0that return all but one player in the entire program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The school will host a Meet and Greet opportunity with Coach Douglas on Friday, June 2 at&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>10:00 AM<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;in the Jack V.
