The Lady Jaguars dropped a 6-2 decision to Perry Central before rebounding with a 3-2 victory over Letcher Central during the Tim Short Classic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe played two really good teams up here today,\u201d North Laurel coach Chris Edwards said. \u201cPerry Central is legitimately a contender. Their pitcher is lights out and they play good defense. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLikewise, we played great defense today, only one error in two games and we only allowed 10 hits in two games,\u201d he added. \u201cSometimes when you play good teams a small break or two is all it takes to sway a game one way or the other. The Perry Central game was that game. They got a break and then a couple of hits is how they done their damage. We were really challenged this weekend and it will only help us get ready for the last week of the regular season and then the post season. I like where my team is at. Go Jags.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seventh grader Emma Carl picked up her team-best 10th win after limiting Letcher Central to only two runs and five hits during North Laurel\u2019s 3-2 win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Lady Jaguars improved to 28-2 after dropping their first game since March 28 earlier in the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bella Sizemore had a hit, two RBI, and one run scored while Ellie Adams collected a hit, and an RBI. Emily Sizemore, and Saige McClure each finished with two hits, and one run scored apiece. Braylee Fawbush also had a hit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Game One<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Perry Central 6, North Laurel 2<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Lady Jaguars suffered their first loss since March 28, as Perry Central snapped North Laurel\u2019s 21-game win streak with a 6-2 victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The game was tied at one apiece entering the fifth inning when the Lady Commodores scored three runs to make the score, 4-1. They added two more runs in the fifth inning to take a 6-1 lead while North Laurel managed to cut its deficit to 6-2 with a run in the bottom of the sixth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reagan Isaac took the loss, allowing two hits and three earned runs in five innings of work. She finished with one strikeout. Emma Carl pitched an inning, allowing three hits, and two earned runs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Katie Sams led North Laurel with two hits, and one run scored while Bella Finley, Ellie Adams, and Braylee Fawbush each had a hit apiece. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
