1. Whitley County (20-2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Colonels continue to impress, boasting the region\u2019s best record at 20-2 along with the best RPI rating as well. The rankings were done before Sunday\u2019s Kentucky 2A State Semifinals we\u2019re played, so Whitley County\u2019s current win streak of eight games matches it\u2019s season-best win streak. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. Corbin (15-5)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Redhounds are winners of four straight and 10 of their last 11 games. They\u2019ve got two huge matchups with Whitley County on Monday, and Tuesday. Corbin could catch a break if the Colonels continue to advance in the Kentucky 2A State Tournament. It would mean Whitley County\u2019s pitching could be stretched playing three games in two days over the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3. North Laurel (10-11)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Jaguars don\u2019t have a winning record, but they\u2019re slowing reaching the .500 plateau. Two big wins over Clay County allows North Laurel to garner its best ranking of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
4. Clay County (10-8-1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Tigers had two setbacks this week, losing back-to-back games to North Laurel, but we still like the direction Jason Smith\u2019s Clay County squad is heading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
5. South Laurel (11-11)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trey Smith\u2019s Cardinals have played one heck of a schedule. Despite South Laurel\u2019s struggles the past few weeks, the Cardinals remain talented enough to play with any team in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
6. Williamsburg (9-10)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Yellow Jackets have struggled of late, but still manage to hold on to the No. 6 spot despite its loss to Harlan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
7. Knox Central (7-9)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Panthers continue to improve as the season progresses, and could be above the .500 mark by the time postseason hits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
8. Middlesboro (9-6)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Yellow Jackets have two big games coming up against Harlan County which should decide, who the No. 1 seed will be the in the 52nd District Tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
9. Harlan County (11-9)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Black Bears need to secure just one win this week against Middlesboro to grab the 52nd District\u2019s No. 1 seed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
