\u201cGood day for my girls,\u201d North Laurel coach Chris Edwards said. \u201cWe were invited to the Breathitt Triangle today. Breathitt has a really nice pitcher. Good velocity and really spins it too. We had some timely hits off her but she is really good. We need to see pitchers like her. I was very impressed with her. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA couple of girls really hit the ball hard and had nothing to show for it but I\u2019ll take those good swings all the time,\u201d he added. \u201cEmily Sizemore hit a home run in the sixth to put us ahead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe real story of today was Emma Carl,\u201d Edwards continued. \u201cA couple of hits and she pitched a four hitter. She is learning to pitch right now. She has good velocity but she is starting to make strides understand what we are trying to do. Several strikeouts and only one walk. She was impressive today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn the second game, we played Magoffin County. 14 hits and 16 runs and Everyone on the roster contributed in this one,\u201d he said. \u201cReally proud of our girls taking care of business. Reagan Isaac was very good in the circle. She threw a one hitter and had very good command. Very good day for our girls. Rest tomorrow and back to work Monday. District games start this week. Go Jags.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Game Two<\/p>\n\n\n\n
North Laurel 16, Magoffin County 1<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It only took the Lady Jaguars three innings to cruise past Magoffin County with a 16-1 victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Lady Jaguars (16-1) scored two runs in the first inning, five runs in the second inning, and nine runs in the third inning to get the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
North Laurel has now won 10 games in a row while outhitting Magoffin County on Saturday, 15-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pitcher Reagan Isaac got the win, allowing one hit, and one earned run while striking out four batters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Five Lady Jaguars players had at least two hits apiece as Bella Sizemore led the way with a 3-for-3 effort at the plate while driving in three runs, and scoring twice. Morgan Edwards was 2-for-2 with two RBI while Isaac turned in a 2-for-2 effort with a run scored. Katie Sams was perfect at the plate with a 2-for-2 effort while scoring three times. Emily Sizemore was 2-for-2 with an RBI, and three runs scored. Saige McClure had a hit, and four RBI, and scored twice while Addison Stewart was 1-for-1 with an RBI, and two runs scored. Macie Campbell believed a hit, and two RBI while Ellie Adams drove in a run. Haley Cooper had a hit, and scored once while Bella Finley scored once <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Game One<\/p>\n\n\n\n
North Laurel 3, Breathitt County 2<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Lady Jaguars trailed 2-1 before scoring a run in the fourth inning, and another run in the sixth inning to defeat Breathitt County, 3-2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seventh grader Emma Carl picked up the win, going all seven innings while allowing only four hits, and two earned runs while striking out four batters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
