CORBIN \u2014 Better late than never.
Corbin spotted Rockcastle County a 2-0 lead before scoring seven unanswered runs to knock off the Lady Rockets, 7-3.
The Lady Redhounds trailed 2-0 entering the bottom of the third inning before cutting their deficit to 2-1 \u00a0they added two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 3-2 edge before using a four-run sixth inning to increase their lead to 7-2.
Rockcastle County attempted to rally but only managed a run in the top of the seventh inning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTonight was a great start to our season,\u201d Corbin coach Crystal Stidham said. \u201cSuper proud of my girls they stayed focused when they had gotten down two, they didn\u2019t lose focus on what they needed to do.  We are learning and beginning to grow as a team and a solid unit.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDanni Foley was solid on the mound for seven innings,\u201d she added. \u201cShe kept firing it in and she was working her pitches, I personally thought she had several more strikeouts than was called, but my defense came with it today to back her up w some big time plays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur started rolling and my ladies connected with several hits, four doubles, and a triple and staying focused on base running,\u201d Stidham continued. \u201cRockcastle County is always good and ready to play, and I love how we stepped up and met this first challenge and got the job done. \u00a0Every game prepares us for the next and the post season. \u00a0Proud of our start now to grow and keep it up! \u00a0Let\u2019s go Lady Redhounds.\u201d
Danni Foley picked up the win in the pitcher\u2019s circle, tossing six inning while allowing nine hits, and three earned runs. She also struck out three batters.
Xandria Roark pitched a scoreless seventh inning, and didn\u2019t allow a hit.
Raegan Hinkle led them way at the plate for Corbin (1-0), going 3-for-3 with two RBI, and a run scored.
Foley helped her own cause with a 2-for-4 effort at the plate while driving in three runs. Alayna Reynolds had two hits, two runs scored, and an RBI while Kylie Clem finished with two hits, and scored twice. Raegan Walker, and Anela Sanders each finished with a hit apiece.
The Lady Redhounds will be back in action next Tuesday at home against Pulaski County.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
